Whistler Village is the heart of Whistler and the place to go for great shopping, world-class restaurants and lively nightlife. It is hard to imagine that until the late 1970s that this was the site of the original town’s garbage dump!  Whistler Village properties cater to the short-term visitor and thus most have restrictive use covenants to ensure there are homes available for tourists to rent. For example, of the 7,700 Village-area properties, only 42 are detached residences, with the remainder made up of condos and townhomes.

 

Driving is not permitted within the pedestrian Village and although the surrounding area is accessible by car, all amenities are within walking distance. There is pay parking available and a free shuttle service, but the best way to explore Whistler Village is on foot.
